Buying a new set of 4 new tyres can be very expensive. There are a few things you can do to not only help the life of your tyres but help with the safety on the road and have a smoother drive.
Check your tyre pressure monthly.
Get your tyres checked for rotation every 10,000km – most cars are 2 or 4 wheel drive, for example some cars are front wheel drive which would mean your front tyres would wear a lot faster than what your rear tyres would. You can change your rear tyres to your front to give the other tyres a rest and create more of an even wear
When you get your tyres rotated it is a great time to have your tyres balanced. No tyre is perfect and even new tyres can be out of balance , even if it is very small that tiny difference can create vibration and cause your tyres to wear unevenly. At BP Workshop we can balance your tyres using a specialised machine and small weights. It’s a quick easy process to do and the cost is much cheaper than buying new tyres
If your car feels as though it drifts or pulls to one side either the right or left, or the steering wheel vibrates your cars wheel alignment may be out. Your wheel alignment can be out even if you are not experiencing these things. It is best to have your wheel alignment checked every 6 months.
If you follow these easy steps it will save you money down the track and help keep the life of your tyres. If you would like to book in to have your wheels rotated, aligned or balanced please email or call BP Workshop on 3207 2224
